A Mom's Birthday

Mason came home from school yesterday with this story that he had written. It's all phonetically spelled, but I can decifer it for you. It says my grandma and grandpa Woody went on a mission to New York City. It was snowy there. My grandparents made it home in the summer and we celebrated there welcome home party at their home. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa W. for serving the Lord, it obviously made an impression on Mason!
I then pulled this note out of Cole's backpack. This was the best birthday present a mom could have! These may seem like small things, but to me are GREAT things! My children make me smile and I am greatful for them. I am greatful for Andy and his love and support. (He puts up with a lot) We celebrated my birthday with Andy's family. It was fun. I love an excuse to eat cake and icecream. I get to share my birthday month with Andy's dad and Ada. It is the best month to be born ever!

Craziness

What a week its been! The good news is Cole is finally potty trained! Woohoo! I thought that it would never happen, but he is doing well. Finally only one child in diapers. Ever since I started having children I have always had two in diapers at some point. Cole, I am so proud of you!! He rode the bus to school and didn't have an accident. Ada loves grandpa! (I don't know why?) LOL He is the best. He has always been there for me growing up and is a great confidant even now. Thanks Grandpa! I printed the calendar just to show what my months look like. I am a little nervous because I work tonight and tomorrow is a big therapy day for both of my kids. My day starts at 9:00am and ends at 6:00pm all without sleep. I suggest that everyone stay away because I might be a little ornery. Beware.......Beware....... More often than not I don't work the night before, it just happened this once. I am not complaining, I just want to get this written down to one day look back and know that I did my best. Mason, Sydney, and Cole all had the opportunity to go see Walking with Dinosaurs at the Energy Solutions Arena. They loved it!! Cole could not stop talking about it and making dinosaur sounds. Mason and Sydney said it was great also. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Wimmer for making that possible!! We love you all!

Refill and I Don't Mean Coke

This coming Sunday is our Stake Conference and our Stake President encouraged everyone in our stake who has a current temple recommend to try to make it to the temple this week. Otherwise, looking at my schedule, I would have not tried to even attempt it. Between therapy sessions, swimming lessons, work, it just didn't seem possible. But Andy and I hadn't been for a while and we decided to try to squeeze it in. I am so glad that we did! It's amazing the new things that I learn every time I go. Nothing incredible happened, no seeing of angels, but the miracle that did happen is I feel better. I know that the Lord loves me and has not forgotten my family. It was like my gas tank was empty and I needed a refill to keep going. (Then why don't I go more often?) Andy is a great temple partner.
I had my blog from this last year printed because I kept a blog, but I did not keep a journal. Fortunately the printed blog serves as a great journal. So I think that I am going to do that once a year from now on. I need to be better at writing things down, because I forget so fast.
Today I go and meet with Cole's preschool teacher to see about getting him retested for Occupational Therapy. He needs it and its expensive privately............along with his speech therapy, horse therapy, and socialization class, whew did I leave one out? Talk about pricey...
Ada started her motor class. She is the smallest one in the class. Weighing in at 15pounds she definately looks the most babyish. We sang songs, worked with the physical therapist, had a snack, and played with toys. She loved it!! My goal for her is to have her crawling by 18 months and walking by two years. She already scoots and rolls all over the floor, but I would like to see her use her lower extremities more. Wish us luck!!
Mason and Sydney are enjoying swimming lessons. Mason is getting his strokes down really well. Maybe next year he will be ready for swim team. He definately shows talent in this area. I do not, I would drown. Although they say that fat floats, so I might be okay.

"I Want my Jammies On!"

Okay, so I have to tell you what my son Cole did yesterday. To give you some background Cole has Sensory Integration Disorder/ and is on the Autism Spectrum. We have been doing a lot of therapy with him and he is doing really well. Anyway....he had been at the Kmetzsch's , our next door neighbors, playing. He came bursting in my door saying, "I need my jammies on!" Remember that it is 4:00pm and I am thinking it is too early to put jammies on. I wasn't going to argue, especially since I was on the phone. He went to his room, got his pajamas and brought them to me. We put them on and then he went looking for his cozy or blanket. He then came to me, remember I am still on the phone, and he wanted help. "Help me." I could not figure out what he wanted me to do with the blanket. He finally grabbed it from me and started to shove it down his jammie shirt. Then when that was accomplished, he said, "I need my shoes to go to Carter's house." It then dawned on me that they were probably playing some game over there. I put his shoes on, took a picture, and sent him on his way, after which I called my neighbor. Her boys have the zip up jammies with feet in them. They had been sliding down the stairs and zipped upt blankets in their jammies so soften the blow. Cole wanted to do what they were doing, so he came home and got all geared up. I laughed my head off! I love this boy and love to see him make improvements, and boy this is a big one!

Happy Birthday Ada!!

My sweet baby turned one today. I cannot believe that a year has gone by. And what a year it has been. It has been an emotional year with its ups and downs. (No pun intended) I look forward for 2009 and what it might bring. Ada loves sitting up and can roll and scoot herself around the living room floor. She is definately a mommas girl. Ada has taught me patience and what is truly important in this life.....family. We celebrated my sister Kristen's birthday also. She was born on January 5th. Our family is getting so large that it seems everyone shares a birthday with someone else. P.S Ada tried the cake but did not like it. (Weird)
